3 ingredients to make masks with Honey and CBD

3 ingredientes para hacer mascarillas con Miel y CBD
DIY masks (“Do it yourself” - or “homemade”) were very typical when we were younger. Now everyone uses them but with all the amount of masks out there, it is sometimes a mess to find one that is really good for you, charcoal masks, sheet masks... I recently thought, “It would be so cool to make some simple homemade masks like I used to make when I was little,” and they were indeed very cool. I know what’s inside, I know it’s so natural that I can eat it. I’ve already tried several friends of mine and they’ve been a hit. Here are some of the first ones I made:

The base

I started with a yogurt base, which has never failed me and is one of the easiest bases to find in any home.

Natural Yogurt & Hani + (Organic Honey + Cannabidiol or CBD)

Honey > First, we must distinguish between the properties of natural and organic honey, which are what we are interested in, such as: antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic. Processed and pasteurized honey does not maintain its properties, which is why I do not recommend it for this treatment. Honey is rich in antioxidants that help us eliminate free radicals (which helps skin recovery and prevents aging effects). It accelerates wound healing and prevents infections thanks to its antibacterial and antiseptic properties. It keeps the skin hydrated and gives it a natural glow. CBD > Since its inception, the cannabis sativa plant has been a topical cure for its anti-inflammatory properties and its high content of antioxidants, amino acids and essential fatty acids, such as Omega 3 and 6. Our skin has cannabinoid receptors, making its effects very effective and noticeable when used as a topical treatment. These compounds (antioxidants, amino acids and fatty acids) nourish the skin, help restore its natural glow, slow down the aging process and soften the appearance of wrinkles. For oily skin, the anti-inflammatory and anti-angiogenic properties help regulate the production of fats (sebum), reduce inflammation from new breakouts and prevent the growth of new bacteria. For sensitive skin and dermatitis, the anti-inflammatory properties can calm redness and relieve itching. *Learn more in our Benefits area Natural Yogurt > Very effective in reducing acne, moisturizing the skin, reducing pores and eliminating oil. Yogurt contains lactic acid which helps to remove dead skin and signs of aging. The zinc in yogurt also moisturizes and cleanses the skin deeply. *We recommend Greek yogurt, which is optimal due to its high levels of natural fat and low levels of sugar. About skin types: In these articles we will share homemade recipes for masks. We advise you to find out what effect you want and try it out. Try to get to know your skin and find out what works best for you. I have very dry skin but I use the turmeric mask, it gives me a luminosity that I love and its anti-inflammatory effects help with my redness, although for other skin types (for example oilier skin or acne problems) the turmeric mask is also beneficial. People are not divided into Atopic, Dry, Normal, Combination and Oily*. It is a spectrum that is useful but even more useful is learning that your skin is a reflection of your diet, context and daily habits. *Some masks will have options for different skin types, but it's best to try them out and see what works for you.

Matcha

Matcha is packed with antioxidants and is antibacterial. These two help prevent acne and reduce inflammation while the antioxidants increase skin elasticity. Its high content of EGCG, a flavonoid, also helps reduce inflammation and balance skin tone. We combine it with olive oil and Hani+, whose anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidant properties help moisturize and soften the skin, without clogging pores. Yogurt and Hani+ together are very effective in moisturizing and eliminating excess oil. Plus the mask tastes amazing.
  • 2 tablespoons of yogurt
  • 1.5 teaspoon of Hani+
  • 1 teaspoon of EVOO, extra virgin olive oil, (optional)
  • 1.5 teaspoon Japanese Matcha powder
Preparation = Mix the honey, yogurt and olive oil until combined. Add the matcha and mix until smooth. How to use = Apply the mask to a clean, damp face using your hands or a brush and leave it on for 20-30 minutes. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes and remove with warm water or a washcloth.

Turmeric

Turmeric is a great antioxidant that, due to its texture, also offers a light exfoliation of the skin, reduces inflammation and redness, provides immediate luminosity, and combats the appearance of wrinkles. Lemon is a natural astringent, balances the skin and removes excess fat. Because it contains vitamin C and alpha hydroxy acid, lemon has very powerful healing properties that help reduce spots and scars. Its acidity helps tone the skin and improves its elasticity.
  • 2 tablespoons of yogurt
  • 1.5 teaspoon of Hani+
  • 1.5 teaspoon of Turmeric
  • ¼ L. lemon juice (for oily skin)
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon (optional - cinnamon helps blood microcirculation)
Preparation = Mix the honey with the yogurt first until they are combined. Mix in the lemon, then the turmeric and cinnamon. It is best to let it rest for between 30 minutes and an hour. How to use = Apply the mask to a clean, damp face using your hands or a brush and leave it on for 20-30 minutes. The cool thing about this mask is its texture, which you can use as an exfoliant. When you remove the mask, you can go over it with your fingers in a circular motion to exfoliate and then clean with warm water or a washcloth. These masks are a good " boost " for our skin, but the best thing we can do is to know it and maintain a continuous routine that includes: cleansing, toning and moisturizing . In the morning and at night. And never forget sun protection. *We recently saw an interesting article that explains very clearly how and why we take care of our skin.
